Have you guys noticed the amount of people, leaving Facebook in 2018? It was like an avalanche… Or was it?
I remember first watching an interview with founder and former Facebook CEO Chamath Palihapitiya , who said: “I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works. The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops we’ve created are destroying how society works. No civil discourse, no cooperation; misinformation, mistruth. You are being programmed”
That was in 2017 and the video is here
The interview went viral and lots of people started posting about thinking of leaving all social media behind…
And quite a lot of people really left. Usually Facebook but also Twitter lost thousands of users. But in spite of the media coverage of the trend, nothing really happened. My friend, for example. A year ago posted on his FB wall “I’m leaving. Bye”. It was sort of sad and melodramatic… or at least he imagined that. Because what hapened was this: He posted the post. A handful of his friends commented that it was a great move and they will follow as soon as…. as what exactly? Because that took about an hour or so and then everyone went coping with their daily programs and THAT WAS IT.
Nothing really happened, he didn’t start any movement in his social circle, nothing.
So what REALLY happened was that after a couple of months he was back. With some lame excuse “yeah, but I will control my time here” blahblahblah…..
You know what? I really think that nothing is really about to change here. Not in 2019.
So – do you ever feel like “Information Overload”?
All the social media pouring into your head, craving your attention, screaming “here I am, look at me!”. Do you enjoy it, or loathe it? And do you feed the troll by posting ten social media posts a day? Why? Few people realize that even sites like Vimeo can serve as a social media platform.
Do you think it’s just an ego thing? Why do you actually need the constant attention of the crowd? In reality, face to face, not that many people demand the attention of others. But online? Even the biggest introverts turn into attention demanding creatures. What is the point?
We all like to feel appreciated. No question about it. It’s about the approval of the tribe, the feeling that we belong somewhere. Which is just so important for humans. Because we lived like that for tens of thousands of years. We needed the tribe to survive. But do we still have this need?
Everyone realizes that social media create a whole new universe, driven by a completely different set of rules. People often lie online. I’d like to know if there is a correlation between those who tend to lie in real and those who lie online. Fake it till you make it? I don’t know if this applies. People just naturally want to look much better than they actually do. Why? Social status. Some scientists say it is all directly related to the basic human need to mate and they may be right.
Every business requires a specific marketing approach. Not everyone craves to be the Wolf of Wall Street, right? It would, therefore, be a waste of time and money to pursue any online consulting program that is not well-matched with your business idea. Thus, take your time to fully compare the potential online marketing courses with your business idea so that you can choose the ones that will help you to move your business to greater income. Accelerate it to a position, where you desire to be. A good consultant is highly beneficial, that’s granted.
All mеthоdѕ оf online mаrkеting are еffiсiеnt but nо comparison саn be mаdе with the еffесtivеnеѕѕ ѕосiаl mеdiа provides. Onе dоеѕn’t have tо spend uѕеful rеѕоurсеѕ ѕuсh as timе and mоnеу on traditional methods whеrе the оutрut level iѕ not рlеаѕаnt at all. What should you be looking for? Experience, know-how, trust, referrals…. Or you van simply take an online course to learn it all just by yourself. The benefits of self-development are many. It will give you the confidence and reliance to stand up for against the world for what you believe and what you can actually do. It will help you to root out the evil and negative thought and you will be left with only positive and optimistic thoughts about your not only business life. Just think about it. The whole idea, the aim of using social media for online business is to be able to reach out to your customers, right? But how? Let others help you and hire a consultant. Like Mr. Sam Ovens from New York City. Caring about the customers is vital for your online business success. Not pursuing, though. Every business person should know how their products and services are meeting the customers’ need. Should you take a survey? The customers should always be satisfied, it’s set in the stone. Your social media platform should be able to attract customer, know which channels your customers prefer using, how often and also having the best reviews on your business profile. And again, this is not all that is and I’ll repeat myself, but I do believe hiring a good consultant will do the job better. Just don’t rush it. It’s like buying a house. Don’t buy a home just because you think it’s nice looking. There are always problems below the surface in even the nicest and news of homes. Before you decide to purchase anything, get someone to come do an inspection for you. In other words, hire a professional. A plumber, electrician, pest control expert, whoever, you name it. It’s the same with consulting and social media business.
