| The natural markings, large crystalline structure and the intense range of colors within this stone provided me the motivation to carve this frog. I employed a use of texture to this stone sculpture in which I framed the frog by bruising the crystals surrounding the animal in an effort to strengthen the visual separation between the light colored stone of the animal and the area that I wanted to serve as the water it was moving through. |
